Site Notes

A word
from the webmistress -- that's me, Scarlett. This bit
explains updates and stuff for those who want to read a lot.
Summer/Fall 2005 -- Not much to report, aside from merging the
Blackadder (character) fanlisting with the site, which is cool. I've updated the
quiz on the front page, and tweaked a few things here and there. Other than
that, not much to read here. :)
Spring/Summer 2005 -- Hmm... no new updates. Um. So. Er...
Winter 2004 -- Well! I've finally updated this poor site.
The wallpapers have been revamped, plus a lot of other little
corrections/updates throughout the site. And - this is a shock! - I
finally completed the cast bio page. I started working on including every
single guest actor and extra, and got about halfway through my list of
significant actors, when I came across an excellent Blackadder site that pretty
much already has the information that I was going to include here. So,
because I couldn't do it any better than that site can, I urge you to visit
The Blackadder LogBook
for all those finicky little details about important guest actors and more.
However, I did update several of the actors' bios that I have already, and I
added Brian Blessed, Elspet Gray, Robert East, Rik Mayall, and Helen
Atkinson-Wood to the page. I decided to leave off the guest actors (like
Peter Cook, Tom Baker, Geoffrey Palmer...) because (1),
The Blackadder LogBook
does an excellent job of writing about them, and (2), there were so many of
them! Have you any idea how many famous and nearly-famous people were on
Blackadder?! It drove me nuts trying to sift through them! So, to
tell the truth, I was rather relieved to find the LogBook because it meant that
I didn't have to continue my sifting (I had written some pretty spiffy bios
though, so I was sad to scrap those!).
So - I made good on my promise to someday finish the cast page. *pats
self on the back* Hope you enjoy it!
Site News: I edited quite a few wallpapers, and removed a few too.
The ones I took down were mind-bogglingly rubbishy, so I just figured they had
to go. I made the majority of the wallpapers a few years (!) ago, and I
had not yet acquired, shall we say, the digital imaging prowess I now possess.
OK, OK, I'm still no great shakes, but I'm much better with Photoshop
than I used to be! :)
I've changed the pages a bit; they now each have a .php extension so that it
will be much easier for me to make more frequent updates. I've added a
custom 404 Error page that includes a site map because I'm sure Google and other
sites will still link to the individual pages with the .html extension for
awhile. This isn't very interesting to anyone but me, but I thought maybe
someone would enjoy reading all that. ;)
Cheery bye!
Blackadder's 20th Anniversary! (June 2002)
I'm leaving this bit up because
the 20th anniversary was so cool, I don't want to delete it!
20th Anniversary, yay! Of
course it's well past the anniversary date now, but we
celebrated at the time, didn't we? Come on, we all voted
for Beer! Yay Beer! As I said before, of course
Beer is the favourite among we rabid Blackie fans. It's
fantastically rude, a bit absurd, and heavy on the wordplay.
Beer is a testament to the talents of Richard Curtis and Ben
Elton - writing gods if there ever were! :)
Or to put it more
simply: It's got turnips and Puritans. What's not to love?
Site FAQ -- a collection of questions I
anticipate others might ask. Actually, I don't think anyone would ask
them, but it's a good read. ;)
Is
there a place I should go to post messages about
Blackadder?
Yes, you
silly person, go to the
Blackadder Hall
message board. There's also a great board at the
Blackadder
Reference Site. And then there's mine, but not many
people post there -- it's there in case someone really,
really needs to post something stupid. You would think
that Baldrick would have filled it up by now. It's also
used as a pseudo-guestbook.
Is
Baldrick really that
stupid?
Yes.
Why
do you keep changing your site colors and format?
Because
I...don't know why, I just do. I know, it's annoying, but
I've settled on this look for now. It's too much work to
go through and change everything now. Update - Yes, I know, I did
it again. But I like it, so you should too. *blows raspberry* Just
kidding. ;)
Or am I?
Yes, I am.:)
Or am I?
Where
do you get your images? Are you using copyrighted images?
*menacing glare*
Well
duh, they're all copyrighted by the
BBC. Blackadder is
made by and owned by the
BBC. I don't own
Blackadder. If I did, I'd be very happy. But I don't. So
the graphics I find are from various sources on the web.
The sites I've gotten piccies from are listed in my Ultimate
Links Index. However, I
don't remember where I got all the pics, because I saved
them all to my hard drive before I started making a site
and didn't start using them till later. But because I'm
not selling the graphics I edit, I hope that that's ok.
Plus, it could be argued that this site is used for
educational purposes. A little history here, a little there, you got an
educational site. Whoo!
How
do you design your graphics?
Adobe
PhotoShop Elements.
Why
are you so darn talented?
Aw
shucks, now who asked that? Whoops. I'm making this FAQ
up. A heh heh heh...
Is
there a Blackadder FAQ? I mean a real one, not this
pathetic thing.
Yes --
at
Blackadder Hall.
Why
is there a Blackadder
brewery site?
Because
someone makes a draught called "Blackadder".
Good name, though we know Blackadder can't take his ale...
Do
you have any other sites?
Yes.
What
about?
Stuff. ;) Go to
lunaestas.com and see. :D
Do
you have a life?
No. I
mean, yeah, sure.
