I wish I could speak Arabic so I could understand Natacha Atlas...

Posted in my LJ because Blogger's... well, Blogger is Blogger. :/

---------------
Stupid Blogger isn't working. Figures; I finally feel like posting, and it doesn't work! Ah well, LJ is a good back-up. :)

It's been ages (it feels like ages, at least!) since I last made a real post (at F&P or here). So, here are some updates about moi...

Let's see. In my last post, I rambled on about a few things. I'll add to those ramblings here. :)

My psyc course is still going well, and I really enjoy just sitting there, taking notes, and being normal. I think that, however, that psychology was not the best subject to study right now - reading about various mental disorders and different theories about them has caused me some anxiety and serves as fuel for the fire that is my HOCD. Oh, OCD, you scamp, you! :/ Aside from that, I'm doing quite well and have only one more week to go. This is good and bad; good, because I can sleep late, and bad, because I still need structure. I am intent on keeping myself as active as possible during the 1-month downtime before the fall semester starts. Partly because I want to be, and partly because it's doctor's orders! :) Gotta keep my mind moving - constructively. So, school's going well. :)

I've been having a rough time with my HOCD for about two weeks, but my therapist and I stepped up the exposure and I expect to really go about it better now. I've finally got a very good understanding of how I'm supposed to go about doing exposure and making it count, so I'm pretty confident about that. I'm still not as structured or as active as I need to be, so I'm working on that too. I must say, HOCD stinks. Just wanted to point that out. Silly HOCD.

Hmm, what else? On the online front, I haven't been doing much. I've been keeping Some Kind Of Blends up-to-date, which is good. I'm so amazed that people do really seem to like participating in the challenges. I'm very proud of SKOB - the little site that could. :)

I've attempted to adopt out several of my fanlistings, but I was only able to give away one. I have a list of fanlistings that I have put up for adoption here. I can't believe I'm letting A Day At The Races and Paul McGann go... but I have to pare down my online projects.

I'm embarassingly behind on emails. At this point, I can't really remember who I need to get back to. So, if you've been waiting for an email from me... please email me to nag me to email you!! :) Gosh, I'm so behind on some other online things... changing links, affiliate requests, and other random stuff. It gets kind of overwhelming, which is sad, because it's all online - not real life! :/

On a lighter note... I got the Daily Show's Indecision 2004 DVD set - so funny! And yet, so very, very depressing. If you're in a bad mood, don't watch the Election Night Coverage. You'll just end up feeling depressed... oh, golly. That was a bad day. But, it's fun to watch the pre-election stuff, to relive that feeling of "Hey, maybe Kerry will get elected! He's got to be elected!" Seriously, though - it was a bittersweet hopefulness. Well, it was for me, at least. :) And the national anthem, as performed by Stephen Colbert, Ed Helms, Samantha Bee, and Rob Corddry is excellent - they can really sing! :D

On another light note... we've got HIGH SPEED! Yes, we now have a cable connection, and I am deeply in love with it. Because of the miracle of high speed and teh internets, I was able to download an *entire NEW WHO! episode* and just about fell out of my chair when it finished downloading and I started it up. NEW WHO! The episode is "Dalek" and is brilliant. Abso-bloody-lutely brilliant. I really hope that a US network will pick it up, but I doubt it... I love teh internets. New Who! NEW WHO!!!!!!

Oh yes - I found my Not Only But Also tape. Turned out it got shoved back in a shelf like it did that last time it went missing. I still think it was off cavorting with my bra. In any case... oh, how I love Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. I have got to stop losing that NOBA tape! :/

M'kay, I think that's about all. To everyone who I haven't emailed back/commented in a journal/whatever - I hope you're all doing well! Take care!

Cheery bye, Scarlett

Scarlett (of lunaestas.com)'s weblog. A silly blog with no deep thoughts or "musings." I just post thoughts and observances that amuse me, and I hope will amuse someone else! :) (Fastidious & Precise - a lyric from Queen's song Killer Queen. No, the lyric has nothing to do with anything, I just thought it sounded nifty!)
