In Internet years, I'm eligible for retirement....

So, I've finished my summer course! Hooray and such. I can't believe I've just finished taking my first college course... I mean, just a few months ago I could barely get out of bed. I am pretty damned determined. :D

I'm feeling quite well. I am working very hard on exposure, and am not letting myself reassure myself - I just deal with the anxiety and doubt. It's a bit scary, but freeing at the same time.

I'm starting to feel "normal" again - finally! - and am feeling more revved up to update sites and other stuff.

I'm giving my Enya site a complete overhaul, and I hope to upload all the changes soon. It's on the first page of Google at the moment when you search for "enya", which I never thought would happen! It's sort of an online goal fulfilled. But I want to make the site even better, with more to see and such. So, I hope that when I upload the changes that it stays on the first page! :D

I plan to close my Sarah Brightman site but create a new Sarah Brightman site. Here's what I mean: at the mo, my SB site has a purpose - to present Sarah links to fans. I've tried to make the site into what I've wanted it to be (a way to bring the Sarah web community together somehow, to highlight all the Sarah sites that don't get much traffic, among other things) but I've lost enthusiasm for it. Not for Sarah Brightman, but for trying to keep that site going. Instead of a links site, I will create a new site to display my SB graphics that I've created over the years (and will continue to create). I've got to plan this out - I want to have the graphics site up before I close SBLS, so that I can launch the graphics site when I officially close SBLS. I haven't thought of a name for the graphics site, although I came up with Forbidden Colours (a song of Sarah's). I may use that; we shall see. :)

My poor Blackadder page needs a bit of sprucing up! I can't really add anything more to it outside of icons and wallpapers; all that needs to be said about Blackie has been said on numerous other websites. I wish I could think of something new for the site... well, wallpapers and icons are fun. :/

My Doctor Who site needs some love too. I'm pretty pleased with the layout, but there are a few things I probably should tweak. I have more caps to add to it, and need to make some more captions. I do love teh Who silliness!

Some Kind of Blends is running fairly smoothly. There's always a bit of extra work when I change the seasons, but that's how it is with a monthly challenge site. I do worry about how I will keep the site updated in the fall, when I'm in school, but as long as I plan ahead I shouldn't have to pull all-nighters to update the site! (Because that has happened before...)

Scarlett's Pile O' Icons needs a lot of love. I want to make icons so badly, but I keep getting sidetracked with working on my Enya site and trying to adopt out my FLs. Speaking of FLs...

It's not very difficult to keep my 4th Doctor's Scarf, A Night At The Opera, Seven Seas of Rhye, Tie Your Mother Down, Fly (Sarah Brightman album), Ofra Haza, Moya Brennan, Anywhere Is, Savvy, Withnail and I, Take Me With You, Bedtime Story, or Enya fanlistings updated, but it does take time... but I don't want to give them up. The fanlistings I put up for adoption don't take any more time, but they are the ones I can live without. A Day At The Races (Queen album) is an album that, in real life, I can't live without, but as I have the TYMD FL, and that's the song from the album that I simply adore, I think that having the album listing is overkill. Although it did take me awhile to make all those screencaps... but I'm not complaining - I got to stare at Queen the whole time! Whoop! :D

Even though I'm giving away fanlistings, I'll think about how I should create a fanlisting for this or that. The song Troy by Sinéad O'Connor, for instance, or Peter Cook, which I think I will end up making at some point. A fansite/listing. I love teh Peter Cook. I've also considered making a fanlisting for the Fourth Doctor, seeing how I love him so very very much. It wouldn't be difficult to run it - I would integrate it into my Doctor Who site.

And then I think how silly I am with all these fanlistings. I don't know how the people with over 100 fanlistings do that. I remember when having one site was enough, especially if it were packed with content and you were really dedicated to it. I've come up with a theory (someone else probably already did, but... oh well) - you age faster on the internet than in real life. I'm only 18 (19 in August!), but I sometimes feel like a geezer when I look at people's sites. Fanlistings, for example - they made no sense to me when I first came across one. Domains, for another example - when I got mine, it was a *big deal*. Coming up with a domain name was a huge process for me - it had to be *just right*. I was so excited that my parents were going to pay for a domain for me! Now, people seem to be able to buy multiple domains - buy a new one when they tire of the old name, you know. It makes me feel ancient! I wouldn't be able to do that, get another domain. I love lunaestas.com too much. :) So anyways, I actually get nostalgic when I come across sites I used to visit when I first went online, and I feel a true sense of loss when I discover that sites I've loved forever have closed. I must sound like the strangest person ever... ;)

Anyways, I was feeling happy, so I thought I'd post to document the fact. :D

Cheery bye, Scarlett

Scarlett (of lunaestas.com)'s weblog. A silly blog with no deep thoughts or "musings." I just post thoughts and observances that amuse me, and I hope will amuse someone else! :) (Fastidious & Precise - a lyric from Queen's song Killer Queen. No, the lyric has nothing to do with anything, I just thought it sounded nifty!)
