About Fastidious & Precise

Fastidious & Precise? Fastidious & Precise is my blog. Boring, huh? It's named after a lyric from the song "Killer Queen" by Queen that I quite like. My entries are rather random - I veer from topic to topic and rarely make serious points. I'm not sure how many people read my blog, but for anyone who does, I hope you like it! :)

First (proper) blog entry: June 8, 2004

Why the switch to LiveJournal? I started this blog using Blogger, and continued using Blogger for about a year. I also got an account on LJ around the time I started up F&P to keep in touch with friends and join communities. I intended to use F&P for "real" blogging, and my LJ for miscellaneous entries (quizzes and things). It occurred to me recently (August 2005)  that I log onto LJ more than Blogger and that simply using one blogging tool would make things easier for me, and less complicated for my LJ friends! Plus, Blogger is generally pretty irritating.

Previous Layouts:

(Summer 2004) Version One: Belladonic Haze: My favorite Queen layout yet! (I've made Queen layouts for several of my sites.) I thought the brushes and the effects really gave this layout an "atmosphere", if it's possible! I also quite like the shades of purple - gave it a rich look. :) The title comes from a lyric from the excellent Keep Yourself Alive. :)

(Fall 2004) Version Two: Someone (Someone) Just Drained the Colour From My Blog: Clever title, hmm? ;) I do like this layout, but after awhile, I felt it was just too dark, and ultimately too dull. The layout was simple and classy, but boring! However, I still like how it turned out. :) The title is a play on the lyric "Someone (someone) just drained the colour from my wings" from My Fairy King.

(Winter 2005) Version Three: Let Us Blog Together: It's a very simple design, very clean, with no dramatic flourishes or anything. I was very
pleased with how this turned out - I really like the contrast of the reds and blues. The kimono-clad Roger and Deaky inspired the title, Let Us Blog Together, which is a play on Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together). :)

(Spring/Summer 2005) Version Four: More Of That Blog: I love that photo of Freddie. :) I made a very simple, classy layout here; I quite like the colors! The first song title to pop into my head when I was thinking about what to call this layout was "More Of That Jazz," which I simply changed to "More Of That Blog," because I'm very silly like that. :)

(Fall 2005) Version Four Point One: I Will Rise And I Will Blog: Inspired by Sinead O'Connor's 'Troy' - the title came from the lyric 'I will rise, and I will return.'

(Winter 2006) Version Four Point Two: Blog Ain't Got The Blues No More: Inspired by Noel Fielding hotness and the song 'Blue Song' by Mint Royale.

Link to me?

I know that probably no one will ever want/need to link to my blog, but I like making buttons, so pbfft. :)

welcome!

Scarlett (of lunaestas.com)'s weblog. A silly blog with no deep thoughts or "musings." I just post thoughts and observances that amuse me, and I hope will amuse someone else! :) (Fastidious & Precise - a lyric from Queen's song Killer Queen. No, the lyric has nothing to do with anything, I just thought it sounded nifty!)
