About The Site

This page has no affiliation with the BBC or any official status whatsoever.  This is an unofficial site.  It also has no affiliation with Tom Baker.

All images are © BBC, and the original graphics are made by Scarlett ('tis me!).  But you can use any graphics you see here (for personal websites and the like, but no marketing campaigns or whatnot) because this site is here for the love of Tom Baker - and isn't it nice to share the love?

Now for the less businesslike wordage.  Here we go!

I love Tom Baker.  Duh.  Who doesn't?  I "discovered" Mr Baker as the Doctor in February of 2002.  Yes, I remember the month, and that makes me a sad fan, but pfft. :)

So how did this site come about? Everyone who loves Doctor Who most likely loves Tom Baker (not everyone, but they won't be reading this cuz they don't like Tom Baker, hmm?) and those nifty people who really like Tom Baker like to see a whole lotta pictures of him in action.  On the show.  What did you think I meant?  A heh heh heh....

Anyways.

A cool guy called Terry originally owned the Pink TARDIS, a magical website with tons and tons of screen captures from Doctor Who.  Now, this is how I tweaked what he had done so that this site would be different - I only had screen caps of Tom Baker, not other characters from the episodes. Some pics with him and another character were in the abyss of caps here, but I assure you - I chose the best quality, most handsome, most silly, and most Tom Baker-y pictures from the tons of images I sorted through.

And that's how this site started out way back when (early 2003? I think?) - as a Fourth Doc shrine sort of thing that archived the Pink TARDIS screen caps! With the acquisition of both a scanner and a screen-capping thing, I added other (hopefully neat) stuff to the site over the years. Now, what feels like eons later in November 2011, I decided to scale the site back a bit and streamline it. Gone are the really, really silly graphics and stuff I did as a really, really silly teenager, and here to stay are scans, icons, and other good things.

Gone, too, are the screen caps from Terry. With the increasing availability of great-quality DVDs of Fourth Doctor stories, the small VHS screengrabs that once were so cool to have are now a bit obsolete. Kind of the end of an era, that.

So what's up with this site now? My hope - just as it was when The One And Only Doctor Number Four began - is to just entertain Who and Tom Baker fans, and maybe even inform (but I really doubt I'll be able to do that!). It's not as big and sprawling a site as it used to be, but I think it's still OK! :)

Email me if you have any questions about the site, or if you just want to say 'hi!', because Who fans are the best, and Tom Baker fans are better. ;)

Cheery bye,
