Right-click on the picture you want to make your avatar, click Properties, then highlight and copy the Address(URL).
(Ignore the avatar explanation above! The MSN avatar directions are below...)
Right-click on the picture you want to make your avatar, click Save As, and then on your MSN Messenger toolbar: Click Tools, then click Change Display Picture, then click Browse and select the avatar that you saved and click Open. Click OK and you're done!
