About

This fanlisting (a neat way to list fans of someone or something) is dedicated to Sarah Brightman's 1995 album Fly.  Why?  Well, here's my story about how I came to fall in love with the album. ;)

I was already a huge Sarah Brightman fan when I got Fly.  I had all but memorized La Luna and had managed to acquire quite a lot of her other recordings.  I came across an import of Fly at a CD store and couldn't wait to listen to it.  I wasn't too impressed at first, to tell the truth.  Its strong pop/rock influence was in strong contrast to the other Sarah albums I had and I didn't really care for it.  I loved the high notes she hit on 'The Fly' and 'Fly' and was gob-smacked by 'A Question of Honour', but I just couldn't really get into the album.

A few months later I pulled the CD out again to give it another try.  I ADORED it.  It hit a nerve and I couldn't stop listening to it!  This time around, I appreciated the amazing versatility of Sarah's voice and style and loved the fact that although it definitely leans more toward pop/dance than opera, it still wasn't at all mainstream "pop" rubbish - it was an album of pure Sarah Brightman magic!  I never get tired of it!
