Well, the simplest way to explain this is to just say - it was for school.
But I'm not one for simplicity.

It was for a project in English class, where we were to be stranded in a place of our choosing - some people chose Candyland, some a tropic paradise.  But not me - I thought, what would be fun?  Why, the wasteland of Skaro, of course!  I set my story in future Skaro, where in my own little universe where thousands of years after all the wars on Skaro, it has become a dry, sombre wasteland.

The one place for fun and hi-jinks, of course.

What makes it a good place to be is the fact that the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) arrives, and becomes stranded on the planet with me.  I was sent there, of course, by the Master (Roger Delgado's Master), and I retell our chance meeting and why I was sent to - Skaro.

The next part of the assignment was a journal - a seven-day one, with details, details, details.  Climate, natives, conflicts, why we ended up there.  Plus the one thing youThe Project could choose to bring in your exile - which we did in class, before she told us what the project was, so we came up with some crazy things.  Me, I chose a book.  Yep.

The final bit of the assignment was to make a cover (for the journal) that had something to do with the journal - so I made... a Dalek!

Understand - I was not writing this with the thought of it becoming a fanfiction piece, because there is almost nothing canon about it - I make up stuff and situations (including a rationalisation about how the series is actually a documentary :) ), with a few nods to the series canon.  Plus I came up with some friendly Daleks.  Absurd.  It's Doctor Who all right, it's just not 'serious'.  Plus I had to explain things so my teacher wouldn't be too confused, like about Davros, the Daleks, Skaro.... I even made a glossary, which I'm not posting here just because I think most people who read this will know who's who.  Geddit?  Who? :)

I kind of like what I wrote, and apparently so did my teacher - I got a perfect score on it. :)  Nice.

The table of contents is on the left, so go ahead and click on through.  Go on; it's pretty fun, I think!  Critiques are welcome!

Cheery bye, Scarlett (who wrote the story, by the way, in case you were wondering, so don't steal it and say it's yours - though why would you?!)
